Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

Possible parents!!! Lightening is my white hen, Miss Frizzle is of course my frizzle hen and Beast is my black rooster!

For it to have Silkied feathers, has to be at least 75% Silkie. Photos of possible parents would help.

I think the black chick in question is Ms. Frizzle’s. The red comb points towards non Silkie blood, too.

Yay!!!!!!!! lol i love my silkies and frizzles but they are the hardest to guess when it comes to colors and parents

Looking like a cockerel. Hope I am wrong.

I kept this little one for purely sentimental reasons, hatched from an egg from my hen I sold and regretted. 6 weeks old and no real male indicators, and yet I think Violet may be a boy, too. Strangely has a single comb, even though dad is a Silkie with a walnut comb and mom was a Silkie/Ameraucana with a modified pea comb. Will be tough selling a mixed breed cockerel. Was going to my layer flock along with an OE. We will see.View attachment 3273002

I knoooowww I think so too I suppose it wouldn’t be the end of the world as long as he’s nice and has decent form for breeding. I could sell some Silkie babies and maybe some more satins Although I’m worried both of Sia’s babies are boys the way they spar…I know everyone says girls spar too—but all of my sparring chickens have been boys Violet looks pretty even if a boy

Posting my adults!! The first two i was told are satin silkies, but I’m not sure! And the last picture is of Beast and Miss Frizzle. I’ve ended up with 3 black Silkie roosters and a blue Silkie rooster. The only girls old enough to lay are Lightening and Miss Frizzle. I’m hoping the others won’t be long! Lol Thunder, Thor - black roosters- and Hulk -blue rooster- were just added to the adult flock. Have yet to see them get any action. Beast controls the girls. Would y’all split a certain way?? Or leave them all together???

I have my Frizzle rooster, Wolverine, with my black and blue Ameraucana hens!! And then there’s Pretty Boy. I was told he’s a satin rooster. But i really don’t know!! I have him with a blue Silkie hen and a black satin hen. Would you pair them with more Silkie hens???
