how do you know he is a boy? are the hackles long? that's the only thing I can think of (if those I think are hackle feathers).

Some gold leakage in the hackle area just coming in. He's basically black x partridge.

Comb is starting to get bigger. Streamers are just starting on back of head. His stance is what first caught my attention so I caught him.

My 24+ week olds have just started crowing in the last week and aren't really interested in the girls quite yet. They are filling out and one possible keeper is out because he has a bad tail. To much sickle and pointy like roosters of other breeds.

The 4th gen cockerel is looking very silkie. He's got a very good tail and is displaying the laid back and calm attitude I'd been breeding for. The too black cockerel might actually be kept. He could possibly sire some nicely proper colored sons.

The others are too young to fully decide.

I have two that are "Bantam Assorted Silkie St. Run" so I am eagerly waiting and watching to see the what-what; who's a girl; who's a cockarel? Sigh. Hurrying up and waiting here. They are now about 13 days old so I have a waaaays to go.

Wonder what's the liklihood that I got TWO of the same sex? Hmmmm?
