Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

I noticed that my silkie is starting to get feathers on their feet. They are 6 weeks old now. Maybe a late feather-er? Not sure this is my first one I had

So, I decided to get a better photo of the little orange, then a 3 week old that's orange and cream, which led me outdoors to grab on of another cream and orange I have.. Turned around and it dawned on me who dunnit! Lemme explain. I had stuck 3 of White Clouds eggs in the 'bator I had on standby after she passed. WC produced this stunner of a roo when bred back to her dad, the partridge roo.

2.5 weeks.

I had to lay in wait like a predator after they ran over to get the treat I brought to catch it. They don't actually run away, more like get just out of reach. Mama now thinks they are being dramatic.

I decided to leave these chicks all F1's and an F2 (provided they are females) with the exception of the blue partridge with Shadow Captain. He's a good papa and deserves more wives. The blue partridge, an F1, will go to General Lee.

Here's some of Lil Boy Blue's first offspring by Turtle Dove. One is a satin, and three others ( two are identical and I didn't photograph the second) and a pure silkie chick (partridge)I was given, the same age. Once again her chicks have the top hat.

The one I didn't photograph was just like the one above. They look dark blue to the nakid eye but the camera says differently. Both have the split wing feathers and more silkie like feathering.

Again the split wing feathers. I'm happy with what she's producing with LBB.

Well, I'm such a DUNCE! When I went out to feed last night there was an empty eggshell outside of Poof Poof's nesting bucket.. I thought, oh my.. who's breaking eggs.. then another this morning. Who's doing this?!? Then at afternoon feeding I found two more.. Not having stuck on the calendar when she went broody I thought it was another week or so, so I went to grab up the last eggs and put them in the incubator before they got destroyed too.. I reached in and what did I grab??

A hand full of fluffy butts! I'm leaving her alone until she brings them out to show off herself!
