Would she be considered a splash? Her colouring and patterning is quite different than my other 2 splash chicks. I was told she came from a BBS coop (but I didn’t see the set up so I can’t be certain).

looks blue to me. did you see her chick dawn?

I have a mauve, two chocolates, a blue, a white/black splash, I think (I need to get a picture and ask to be sure), black, and a partridge. They are all just hitting 4-months-old, and I can't be sure of the sexes yet. I hope to get a pair between the mauve and chocolates, so I can pen those two together and see what we get! Not hatching anything until early next spring though. (Wisconsin).
Would love to see pics! Could the white/ black be a paint by chance?

She was very light grey as a chick. Here are some progression pics of her. She didn’t start getting darker until later but when her crest came in it was almost all dark. 817FFF7A-E2DF-46D7-B9B6-409CCC55277D.jpeg

Sadly raccoons got to Perry the platypus and cumulus cloud around a month ago. Starburst is of course a rooster as I had thought (my siblings always doubt me).
Here’s the last pics of the silkie hens and a pic of starburst (he’s kinda ugly ngl). He crows like 5 times 5 times a day, and he sounds like he’s getting stepped on even though he’s almost 28 weeks old/6 1/2 months old. He’s gotten uglier after this pic, it was 2 months ago.

The rest of the alive chickens plus perry

Bee is the only one to have laid an egg yet. She laid one June 19 and then stopped for a week or two. Now she lays regularly.

The raccoons got to Starburst now, beheaded in the coop… :hmm Bee and the Buffies are the only ones left

Good morning! Any thoughts on colors for these chicks? I have three that are pretty close in coloring so I'll group their photos, then a much lighter version and a satin.

Three similar chicks:

This one is really light, has pale silver / blue in some areas with some red in the wings, back, and tail

Satin:

I got the eggs from a local breeder, since these are definitely not BBS he has been looking into what his roo could be, maybe calico or partridge, the hens were BBS.

So Sad! Did they get inside or try to pull the whole bird through the wire? If that's their MO, then adding 1/2 " hardware is pretty much the only way I've had any success thwarting the persistent buggers. They can't get their nasty little "hands" through it!

I think through the wire, I don’t think they can get inside. I don’t really know though since my sister saw him not me. I’ll have to check the spacing of the wire
