Yesterday I hatched 35 mostly my silkies, and half were from a breeder. I wasn't planning to keep any as they would be what I already have, except 2 paints and this one.

It looks partridgish, but isn't the typical chipmunk silkies are when hatched.

Whatcha think?

It's cute no matter what color it is
I agree. I'll keep this one and the two paints and sell the rest. It'll be interesting and at least it's different than anything else here! Thank you!

I have thise 4+ month old chick that a friend insists is a cockerel. I'm not seeing evidence of it yet. No streamers or long tail feathers, only an upright stance like mom has. Beak is slowing turning dark. If it is a male, boy howdy for me! I've been waiting on a light blue to breed to several hens.

Could go either way. Ive had some boys that looked like this at this age. Only the fact partridge is different colors told me was boy

With the partridges it is pretty easy. Males are bolder in color and the colors stay more in patches, while the females have evenly distributed colors. Guess I'll just have to wait on this one.

I look at width of comb and for any color on the tiny wattle spots on the whites

So cute😍

I can't really tell from the pictures but it looks a bit like one I hatched this spring! Mine turned out to be a gorgeous blue silver partridge❤️
