I’m seeing so many boys too. The two showgirls I have I swear are both boys. Which will be upsetting because I really wanted at least one showgirl hen. I know the frizzle has to be a boy. I’ve never seen a redder comb on a 6 week old. Maybe my Cochins was but he’s a boy too. Paint twos comb is reddish as well but that one acts like a girl. So I’m torn still. I’m hoping for more girls than boys but I’ll be happy if just one of the showgirls is a girl. Preferably Snuggle. My son named Suggle and I don’t want to have to break his heart if Snuggle is a boy.

I've had some pretty boy heavy hatches myself. Worst one was 7 out of 8 boys!

7 out of 8?! Wow. I was so hoping Snuggle was a girl but also pretty sure he’s a boy. He really looked like the one crowing on camera. I’ll post pictures until they all show their boy feathers but I’m pretty positive I’ve only got two girls. I was actually pretty sure I had a boy heavy group at about 8 weeks so I bought more eggs and chicks from the lady I got these guys from. Hopefully I have better luck. I really want a girl showgirl.
I am keeping Snuggle however until I’m sure he won’t relapse with wry neck. His bought of wry neck came on so suddenly I don’t want to re-home him only to have it happen again. So far I have him on vitamin E every other day. He’s been doing good but I want to be sure.

You’re right about paint 2 as well, he has a bunch of pointed feathers. Though I think paint 1 may actually be a splash with leakage.

I was wondering about his color. He ended up much more grey and brown than the others. But looked like a Paint as a chick.

He looks like he has quite a bit of both khaki and red leakage. Paint males often have the khaki leakage (most of mine do......it is so hard to get a nice bright white boy)!

He probably wouldn't be good for breeding more paint to the standard since the red is likely to stick around but he looks very promising for someone wanting to work on a paint calico project. I think he is beautiful!

I think he is as well. That breeding project sounds interesting. I wish I could do it but I can’t keep any more roosters. Not currently anyway.

Even though I think Snuggle is the one that crowed in the video I haven’t heard any crowing since. From any of them. Which is expected. But I still don’t see obvious streamers on Snuggle, like the others, and his comb is smaller.
