Poor little thing. Well, if s/he can eat and drink, s/he'll be okay.

One of my broodys eggs has a pip!!! I lifted her up just to see if any of the eggs had broken or hatched yet and when I turned one of the bantam eggs there was a tiny hole in it!!

I got so excited I put her back down before I thought to check the other 6 eggs, duh lol So I don't know how the others are progressing. I will check on her again later. I am not sure how she will do as a mom, I don't know if she ever hatched before.

How long after pip should the chick hatch out?

It varies, SunAngel, anywhere from an hour to 24 hours. It usually takes a few hours.

lol

Good luck with them! I've got one girl left on the nest now...

We moved Glenda and her eggs to the broody pen. She was not happy at all, but grudgingly went back to her eggs. The broody pen is in Suede's coop and has a "roof" on it, on which sits Zane's dog kennel he stays in much of the time. So, we are into Day 19 now.
