I have a red hybrid called Polly and she has this funny/stupid habit of she puts her head on one side as if she looking a the floor and starts walking backwards for sidewards! lol its so funny! I think its coz she doesn't like any climates !lol Such as wet, cold, frozen ground, snow and hail lol!

She sounds cute!! I had a Guinea hen that did that!! He would actually be scared of his shadow, so he would walk backwards for 8 seconds and crash into our car!! lol Now I have a broody hen that does that when she goes to get water!!

I'll sit on my porch and take a small handful of mealworms. One or more hens will hop up and eat out of my hand. When the hand is empty, they'll jump down, and it will be someone else's turn. Hildegard has learned that once the hand is empty, she can jump down, walk around to the other side of me and hop back up and of COURSE she believes that I think it is a completely different hen and thus, she gets more treats.
