Silly Molting Question

When a chicken molts, will the new feathers grow in with the exact same patterns as the old? One of my hens has one little half-black feather on her shoulder and it's the only way I can tell her apart. You think it'll still be there after she molts?

I imagine so. My rooster has strange red splashes on some of his feathers. They look like he spilt something while eating. When he molted, they came back the same way.

Depends on which moult it is. Birds can change color pattern a bit after their very first moult.
