I got 6 BCM chicks last week. They are in the bathroom cause its cold here. I notice on thier little feathers what I first thought were little water droplets, but now have decided whatever it is, its not water. The chicks will try to pick it off of each other. All my other chicks I have raised have been yellow, white or light cream color. Maybe all chicks look like this and I haven't noticed because of the coloring. I know some mites are bright red, and they have none of that. This isn't mites is it? I need to know before i put them outside.

Thanks.

Can you post a pic? It sounds like it might just be their feathers growing in....but a pic would really help.

No, even if I take a pic I promise, they are soooo small and tiny they won't show up. I can't see anythign crawling around on them, but I have never had mites so I don't know what they look like. I also don't know the conditions there were kept in, since they were BCM they were hard to find, and far away, so we met in the middle.
