I got this chick as a SLW from a feed store a few weeks back and she seems... I dunno... just different from my other SLWs when they were young. First of all, she has a straight comb.
No big deal, right? I had another SLW that had a straight comb. It happens.
But her legs and beak are white instead of yellow. That's pretty weird, right? All three of my other SLW have yellow feet and beaks.
And her pattern is WAY off. Faded bars of black and white instead of each feather splashed in a black and white pattern that the other chicks had (which was slowly replaced with the mature coloration of black-laced silverywhite)
Totally different from my others. Pictured below for comparison is one of my other SLW at about 6weeks (chick in question is about 4 weeks old)
They came from different stores, so probably different hatcheries too, which has been what I've been attributing the differences to, but now I'm thinking maybe not?
What are your thoughts?
