Silver Duckwing Phoenix Tail

I have a pair of Bronze that are only 3 months old. That silver is just beautiful. This is my first pair and plan to get more breeds of them when I can.

I have a question about them. I was told they are American Onagadori, same as Phoenix. How big do they actually get? Not their tails but body size. Mine have the body size of one of my mutts that is 6 weeks old. Their legs and neck is longer. I don't have a recent picture of them standing or I would attatch it.

Right now I have Phoenix, Ameraucana and White Sultan chicks that are all the same age. The phoenix chicks are the smallest ones. I have attached a picture of my Ameraucana Pullet and Phoenix chick. They are only about a week old but already a big size difference.

Tell me a bit about the longtail gene--how soon do you know if a bird has it? I have a phoenix X silkie; wondering if he will grow a long tail? Right now his type is very silkie.

Chicks under 16 weeks old are suppose to be able to eat all day, they are never suppose to be out of food. So yours still should be allowed to eat 24-7. I let mine have an endless supply of food until 16-18 weeks depending on the breed and then I cut their food down.

UMMMMMMMMM do you have pics of that one. I would love to see that.
With the silkie geene, i really doubt that he will get a long tail.
