Silver Laced Cochin Roo or Hen??

Does the silver laced coloring show up immediately? I have a cockerel whose feathers look lighter in the middle, but they aren't white... what is this color pattern called? Thanks

I am new here also. It looks like a rooster to me also. I have one who is about 11 weeks old and she has plucked out many of the feathers on the back end of all the other chickens. She just casually walks up next to them and takes a little nibble. My poor Buff Orphington has absolutely no tail feathers at all. I thought it was our Black Frizzle Cochin rooster (same age) but he has feathers on his back plucked out also, though not as badly. The culperate looks totally fine. I think she may need to a new home. It almost looks like she likes the taste of the other chickens. The poor things.

I breed Cochins, that is a Rooster. Grats, they make great Roo's. Quiet and peaceful.
