Silver laced Wyandotte 6 week old hens???

I would have said definite cockerel too, if I'd seen this thread earlier.
My SLW cockerel had about the same amount of headgear at that age.
Glad you got a girl.
I see other photos of SLW at a young age and being this was my first I agree her lacing was undefined and not laced but she has a rose comb was not red but very pale. Obviously it did not appear that way to others on this thread. I've had hens before her so I trusted from my experience that she was shaped like a hen. I am so happy with the end result. She's a friendly beautiful girl. My Opal. And boy she will be big and fluffy in time to come.

They're a nice big breed.
My SLW cockerel is 8 weeks.
Definitely easier to sex if you're with them. Behaviour is telling. Mine screams if I so much as go to stroke him. He's very sweet though. I agree about the patterning often being randomer in cockerels. Mine has obvious cockerel pattern.

I love those bulky puffy breeds.

Let me see a photo please.

It doesn't show the feathering properly, but here he is sunbathing.
I'll get a fresh photo tomorrow.
It's his back mainly with the cockerel pattern. Front feathers are pretty normal.

Her barring has really smoothed out!
I can't post photos of my boy because my phone memory is low.
She's so pretty!

ETA: Barring? I mean lacing. Lacing.
