If the bird crowed, it is a cockerel. Though I've never seen one in person, I do know that some Silver Laced Wyandottes are "hen feathered". This means that they don't develop the obvious male plumage.
Your bird still looks very hen like. Are you sure that it crowed?
x2Older hens, often with reproductive disorders, may crow but a young pullet will not.
Are you sure it was an attempt to crow and not some pre egg laying squawking? I would expect a cockerel to start crowing long before 5 months of age.
