We have two SL Wyandottes, but one has a spiky comb (although flopped over) and the other has a rose comb. They both came in the mail, and the 3rd dies of heat stroke, but she has a spiky comb too! I don’t think Bess (rose comb) is a Colombian Wyandotte, because she looks like a normal one, and her feathers aren’t white enough! Are they the same breed, just different combs? And if so, why are they different?? 🤔

From what I understand, single combs were introduced some time ago for fertility reasons I am not clear about. The single comb is recessive, so if two rose combed birds that are recessive for the single comb breed, 25% of the chicks when then have single combs. Hope this makes sense.😊
