Silver Linings Chronicles!

I'd love your opinion on my question above in regard to introductions to the new ducklings!
Sounds like you have a pretty good idea on how to handle it. Should go fairly smooth as young as they are. One of the bigger concerns I'd have is one of the older two accidently trampling the new ones. I'm sure you've noticed how fast they've grown. But if you just do "look no touch" method for a few days to a week until the new ones have a bit more size, or maybe just keep the new ducklings in your small brooder until they grow out of it, then I think you should be fine.

I agree with this. Littles tend to get along faster.

Here they are!! Metzer called on Wednesday and said no Saxony were available, so I opted for another Silver Appleyard. Babies are doing great, eating and drinking and everyone looks healthy. Stay tuned!

Oh so very cute. Good choice on the Appleyard. I love my Saxony mixes. I had some pure. They are huge ducks but very entertaining. You should be able to put yours together in a week. Ill post a bad picture, the only kind I make of my mixed aged babies. They did fine. I plopped the littles in after three days but they were in my kitchen so I could watch them.

I adopted the black one as an egg from someone who had only the one surviving egg cause the little Welshies were supposed to hatch soon. Well the black guy was early and the Welshies were late. So I had to go to TSC and get the two blue runners for the black guy as he wouldn't stop screaming. All.Night.Long. so he's 10 days, the runners are 7 and the Welsh new are 3. They were very happy together.

Yes, great excuse to get more ducklings! I approve of this!
