Got a nice message from the owner of the Silver Pencil led Rocks they came from a NSAC Heritage Farm National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition my guess is some where in Canada. So maybe they lucked out and got a old strain from yesteryear's maybe not. I am going to try to contact Dick Newland and see if these are some of his birds or he knows the old long run history of them. If you live in Canada or near this strain you need to get you some eggs or started chicks or what ever and then raise them up. Maybe some how we can get some adult birds net worked into the USA. In example is lets say you get a good trio of birds like pictured and they are picked up at a show or your home by a friend. This Friend takes this trio to a show where a fellow is coming to the Ohio National next November. He then enters these birds into the show and gets the correct health papers to come across the border then you or a friend purchase this trio from the person who brought them there and you take them home and hatch as many chicks as you can that nest spring. Very much like Yard Full of Rocks did a few years ago with his trio from Dick from Canada. It took about three years to get them in to the USA but we did it. Now many have these good birds on their farms and back yard pens.
Simple as can be just got to coordinate this. We must keep it legal so we do not hurt our chances of doing this again on another variety or breed from Canada that could help us.
