The rug is almost 3ft. by 4 ft. We don't often sell our rugs because of the time involved in doing them. Some of the ladies in my group give them as gifts. You can sometimes hire a "hooker" to design and complete a rug on comission. They are expensive, because it may take a year to complete a large piece. Amy
I was in the run today realizing how simple and yet rich our little lives were. Your rug definitely accomplishes the original purpose. It is an heirloom and must be passed down to the deserving grandchild or niece or nephew that realizes it's worth, money will never equal the effort. There is more than time, and wool, and burlap there. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the kind words. This rug will hang above my mantle after its fnished. Some of my co-hookers actually use their rugs as rugs. They say they were meant to be walked on. LOL. I just can't bring myself to walk on mine. These rugs will last generations. My teacher has rugs she did as a child. She is 83 yrs. old. Unfortunately, she has alzheimers, and is slowly losing her memory. Her daughter is now choosing her rug colors because she cannot remember the patterns. It's a tragedy!
