Last summer my ladies used to line up at the garden fence when I was picking my cherry tomatoes! I didn't give them too many, maybe one for each. They loved them!

When you guys feed these treats, do you notice a difference in egg-laying?

No, I don't notice a difference :)

Anytime Treat: Apple Pickins

Ingredients: Apple slices, (Thick ones!) Oat meal, Steal cut oats, cracker crumbs.

Instructions: Mix oat meal, steel cut oats, and cracker crumbs together. roll the Apple slices in the oat meal mix.

Serve.
You can also drizzle jam (Recipe in thread) on the apple slices. and, if your chickens aren't big fans of apples, use carrots or celery.

Anytime Treat: Ants on a Log
this recipe is a remix of one of my favorite snacks, only... I use peanut butter instead of yogurt (we had a LOT of yogurt in my fridge, so I used it) and never put oatmeal on it.

Ingrediants:
Celery (a long piece or a few short pieces)
Low fat plain greek yogurt.
Steel cut oats (or just regular oat meal)
a handful of Raisins.

Instructions: Fill the celery's hole/well/whatever you want to call it with yogurt. Sprinkle the yogurt with steel cut oats. Place raisins on celery in a neat row so they look like ants on a log. (Or just throw the raisins on it)

in the summer, you could probably put real ants on it. I bet the chickens would like it better
