Is the whole celery good for chickens? I would be worried about them eating the long stringy things in celery (name escapes me at this time). I've often wondered if chickens eat ants. LOL

I read in a book, (IDK the title) that when they have a piece of food too big to swallow easily, they will start to run with it, and somehow (I forget exactly what happens) they break it apart. if anyone knows what the proper term is, would you please tell me?

My chicksc are 6 days old and on medicated crumbles. When can I introduce treats and anyv suggestions which ones to start with? Thanks!

I asked the same question a while back, here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/754712/how-old-do-chicks-have-t-be-before-they-can-eat-fresh-food, good luck with your little ones!

In my experience, I know they run to keep the food from other chickens, and have seen them hit food against the ground to break it up.

These are simply awesome. I may try these out someday. My Brahmas might love some of these. X3

Got any treats for chicks? Just curious, because these are so creative. <3 I have six three-week olds, or they will be on Sunday lol

Thank you!

No, I'm still not aloud to feed my chicks until they go outside for the first time. (Which will be in several weeks.) But maybe you could try crushing some cereal, and mixing it with another type of cereal, and some chick grit. (one day, I will try this and see if it works)
