What does this even mean?

I am thinking of getting some Pomeranian geese and on a list of what to look for, including pink feet and bill, was single-lobed paunch. I have NO idea what this means.

Does anyone have any pictures or desciption?

Also if any one has information about Pomeranian geese that would be great too. Temperament and such. Thanks!

Have you owned geese before? anyways with heavy geese there is basically a storage area that hangs down between their legs. you need to look at them straight on from either the front or the back to view the Paunch(s). Some have described the paunches as looking like butt cheeks in two paunched geese. The Pomeranian is the only goose to have one single-lobed paunch (and even then many actually have two, the single paunch means you have stock that was bred to retain this trait. twin paunches would be a fault at a show but otherwise isn't important) The pink bill and feet aren't truly pink but are more pink than orange. I hope this helped and be prepared to pay big money for a Pomeranian with these traits. They are rare.

No I have not owned geese before. I have ducks and chickens. Is this a problem?

The geese I may go look at are from criagslist.

Here is the ad:
Nice young pair of beautiful Pomerainian (german origin) geese for sale. They were hatched in March 2009. They are excellent foragers and quite friendly. They come when called.
If you have not seen these geese before they may also be called gray saddle backs because of the gray patch on their backs. Please google photos to see color pattern. They have a beautiful gray head and orange to pink bills and feet. They are great layers and good natural parents. I have too many and need to sell a few. They are a heritage breed and are on the critically endangered list of heritage breeds. I have bred geese for years and really like this line of geese, and they have a nice calm disposition. Please inquire if interested. They are 15.00 dollars each.

I am a goose person and I would jump for such a great deal! Please don't buy just one goose it will be lonely for other geese! The ad says a pair and a true pair should never be broken up they usually pair for life. I suspect these geese are too young to have formed a true pair, and the term is probably refering to being a male (gander) and female (goose).
That having been said, geese are not just giant ducks, they are grazers and eat mostly green food so a bit of land works best for them. If you have a place to keep them GO FOR IT! the people here on the goose board can answer questions you may have and walk you through goose ownership. $25/day old gosling is a good price for this breed. I have never owned the breed mostly because they are hard to come by, but they have a great reputation in the goose world.

Thanks. . . I am still thinking. I might wait until spring now.

I was planning on keeping them with my cayuga ducks at night and then letting them range during the day.
