It does make sense. I would start by clearing out the hole. That area of the face is highly vascular, and sometimes it bleeds quite a bit. I have one I have to do today, so I will see if I can get pictures of it.

Update: I was able to pull a ton of gunk out from the hole in her cheek and grabbed some Baytril from the vet. I'll treat her for 5 days.

Final update. Pulling the gunk out of the hole inside her cheek and Baytril antibiotics really helped. Here she is today.
