Nope. Told my DH that I refuse to watch a show that is going to help those people profit from their lifestyle. Just my opinion...

Multiple husbands???????????????????

Not enough money on the planet or asprin in the country to talk me into that one

I was online friends for a long time with a lady in Seattle who was in a non religious based polygamist marriage. It worked for her and her family. It was a harmonious group, the kids were well balanced and both wives worked part time at the business they all co-owned. Someone was always home for the kids whethor it was one of the moms or the dad. No one was forced into the marriage and they all had equal rights in the business and the home they owned. They sure changed my perspective on what I thought I knew about polygamists. Just like every other group in this world no two marriages are alike or are based on the same principles and ideals. Not all polygamists are welfare sucking underage marrying scum some are just decent fairly normal folks trying to live day to day like the rest of us. Just my opinion

A friend sent me a cartoon once that showed 3 men on a sofa all watching tv. A woman was standing behind them and said" you mean to tell me that not one of you took out the trash?"
The caption underneath the cartoon said " The reason women dont have multiple husbands"
Made me giggle but then Im kind of damaged

I think it is also. If I recall right the state of Utah was not allowed to join the United States until they out lawed polygamy. Most of them get around the polygamy charges, because the only legal marriage is the first one. Legally none of the other marriages exists.

I would have but did not realize that it was on.

Btw, a non-religous based polygamy relationship is often referring towards as polyamorous. Polygamy is usually left to one man and many wives within a religious base, Mormon being the common one. Polyamorous relationships.. It's all up to the participants!

I agree, to each their own. If it works for then, great! Don't worry, they've got nothing on the Duggar's.

I faintly recall a culture where that did occur. Something about how their women "cost" a certain amount, and if one man could not "afford" a wife, some would get together to support one wife. Think that was the same one though that if the male was wealthy, he could afford many wives and the resulting children.
