My sister has recieved an email from a friend with chickens who says that her chicken "marshmallow" is sick. She says that she has bloody poop. My sis is asking if there are any other symptoms. We thought it could be worms or coccidosis. Any help on what to do and what it might be?

Hi @puffypoo22

More information might be helpful - like telling us how old the chicken is and providing us with photos of the poop.

Generally speaking if the chicken has bloody poop, then Coccidiosis would be the first thing to consider. Treatment is with Corid which can be found in the cattle section of Tractor Supply.
Dosage amount is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder per gallon of water or
2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon of water.
Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

Please note - if there is any way possible to take a fresh poop sample to a vet, they can perform a fecal float to determine if the cause of bloody poop is Coccidiosis overload.
