Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

and not such a clutz but then I agree totally with the start (in my case) exercising and eating healthier.
more whole grains, less meat and processed junk.

Ugg, the barn. Every year I clean the barn with a sharpie in my pocket. I write the date on some piece of junk they HAVE to have, because it is going to be a project. I give it six years. I write the date on it, and if it comes up 2009 in this years cleaning, they have one year to make it or dispose of it.
I think that is fair.

except... I don't write on my stuff. If I wasn't having to clean the barn so much I would have time to art with my stuff.

oooh, stained glass!!! I love stained glass! All my lamps have stained glass shades. That is one art form I never got around to. Hmmm, I wonder if the lady that lives in the county seat still teaches classes?

I do need to get back to my woodcarving and walking stick making, that's one I definitely need to add to my list. I have wood cut years ago waiting for me.

I really like the sharpie idea!!! wonder if that would work with DH? His way of dealing with project "overflow" is to build another shed to put it in!

I love carving. It is like magic watching to see what is reveled from the wood. or stone.
We start with an idea, but then the media takes over and you just do what it tells you to do.

Good morning, Everyone!

It snowed last night, so the first day of the new year comes wrapped in a lovely frosty layer of pristine white. The added gray in the air makes one want strong coffee, so did a grind of pure French Roast this morning. A nice bold mug. Mmmmmmmmm....... Perfect for contemplation.

I love to look at wood work but it doesn't speak to me like that. I just appreciate others art. :) :)

Part of the project resolutions is also not to start new ones but to finish those already begun.

I love the look of stained glass lampshades, but such a thing would have a life expectancy of about 3 minutes around here - too many cats!

Grog morning, all. Insomnia is a rotten thing.

One of our neighbors had a New Year's party last night; I think it started around 6 p.m. I HOPE they were using an outside sound system; we could hear the music in the yard, but the pounding of the sub-woofer followed us into the house. Six hours . . . . . six hours of having our insides vibrated by music we couldn't hear . . . . At least there were only a few fireworks around midnight; on July 4th, people were shooting them off for hours. But hey, the neighbors don't complain about my roosters, and that's a heck of a lot more than a few hours a couple of times a year.

I was in a intermediate drawing class once and over heard the grad student talking to her professor about albatrosses. He said that there is a point where a project needs to be stopped and scrapped instead of trying to salvage it.
I think about that a lot.
There is a reason sometimes why we walk away from something.
Not just art, but a lot of things. I will scrap a garden and start over if it does not flow.
Wrong place, bad light, something keeps it from working and no matter how much more energy you put into it, It just won't work where it is at.

relationships, friendships...family. sometimes we just need to start over. It applies to everything.
