I am still learning the way of Sourman, because, well, I'm just at the bottom of the food chain after all.

Everything is a sheet of ice, and we are supposed to visit our son and his family to celebrate our grand daughter's 16 th birthday.

Drive safely put on your skates and happy 16th to your grand daughter. Time flies so quickly.
This time next year she'll be talking about colleges.

Indeed Alaskan has waxed truly poetic. We stole our DIL from Texas. and her first comment when she came East was, "Everything is so GREEN."

We had a large imigration of people from San AntonioThe first comments were that we were in the 70s and 80s and San Antonio was still in the 90s. In the Spring they were amazed at how green things were and how many flowers there were.

Trip rescheduled for the second time because of bad weather. Still no salt or sanding of our road. I've cleared the front porch and sidewalk, side sidewalk and part of the deck - already taken my 'preventive' Aleve and about to address the vehicles. 'Cousin Richard' plowed the drive at 7 AM - perhaps a movie this afternoon?

The coffee is very good this morning!

Caramel rolls are out of the Oven.

I hope everyone was able to dig out of the Snow this morning where there was snow. No snow here, just frost on the roof.

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've checked in here. I have tried to keep up with the posts, but alas I know I have missed a lot! I've been busy with the seasonal preparations for the hens,Christmas things, and then on this last Wednesday my hens were attacked by 2 stray dogs (German Shepherd, & Beagle mix) that actually crawled into the coop via the automatic door. I was home at the time, but didn't see the dogs until they did most of the damage. They run isn't done still, has one end incomplete, so it was actually my fault, but the girls did love to free range on all of the 2 1/2 acres. I lost 9, the 5 left all have bite wounds. Very traumatic for them and me. They used to follow me everywhere, now when I open the coop they are very wary of me. So for now they will probably be in the coop recovering for the remainder of the winter and locked up in run or portable electric fencing after that.
