Morning all!!!
Another rainy morning here. We don't have several days of wet, ever!!! It's been so soggy and humid that the wood benches are beginning to grow,

It was 60o !!!! when we got up this morning, that's above our normal daytime high this time of year!!!
Oh, and of course, tomorrow night we are under a freeze warning

Good news this morning tho. The logger just "popped" in (of course on a morning I decided to do chores in my jammies) with logging contract in hand.

I had to make a dive for the bedroom while DH answered the door. The "back forty" can't be logged until winter when the "swamp" freezes and hopefully before the snow gets too deep but our front acres are so sandy they drain like a sieve so they can log them without worrying about their equipment sinking any time they want,so he kind of gave us a "head's up" they could show up with little warning. That's fine with us as long as one of us will be here to make sure they don't grab our landscape trees by mistake. He was also good about stressing things will be a mess until they are completely done (duh, it's logging, but I guess some folks don't realize that) but they have a really good dozer guy that comes in and cleans things up. It's kind of scary to think about how much the look of the place will change, but despite what some think, it's actually good for the land and for the forest to do a "select cut" (no clear cutting here BTW) since we no longer allow the natural rejuvination, aka fire, to do it's thing to keep the forests healthy. Any of you living out west knows the ultimate consequence of that all too well. I'm going to see if I can find some "before" pics of our property, especially the back forty, to show you guys and I'm hoping to take some new pics of our high ground before the loggers attack.
