Baker CA is on the edge of Death valley on the way to Vegas. It can be that hot at ten oclock at night. Thats true desert. Not my cup of tea. There are people here that live in the imperial valley that come up to my highdesert to escape the heat. it tops out there at around 120.

I met someone on line here that lives in Death Valley who raises Geese and chickens. His adaptations for poultry were amazing.

I know you are joking and love it. But If I were to step out of the car in Minnesota dead of winter I too would die. I have heard about white outs and digging houses out so you can open the door.

Right now I am looking out on the patio. The lizard that was there yesterday, showing off his dewlap and alternating feet because the concrete was hot, is back. I named him stubby because sometime between then and now he sacrificed his tail.

He still thinks hes hot stuff. Doing pushups now....

Hope he makes it to adult size. Alligator lizards get to be over a foot long. hes about four inches
