goodmorning everyone!(although its afternoon here) today im trying a new coffee and its called D' Aqui lol i have no idea what that means, but it was pretty good coffee. only five more coffees to go until i have tried all the coffee variations in the store.

lol sometimes i miss the snow, but then when i read all the comments of you guys having to plow or shovel the snow i think twice about it and think drinking a coconut in the middle of winter on a nice sunny beach is so much more relaxing!
Good for you!!!
(I just drink whatever DH buys; but I really like Starbuck's Sumatra, Dunkin Donuts original, and Eight O'Clock Columbian.) Aged is better than fresh IMO, but I understand from DH and my kids that that makes me weird, so....

Silly Sour!

My Marans pullets just started laying this week!
big_smile.png

I am gaining a lovely four minutes of sunlight every single day!

I think the dramatic increase in light is why the chicken egg production has already increased.

I even got a duck egg this last week!

No! They need to rest more. It is natural for them to not lay for 8 months a year so do not give them light!

WHAT?!?!?!?
Unless I'm in Alaska, my chickens better lay more than four months out of the year!!!
She who does not give me breakfast shall become dinner before she knows it!!!
(except Snoodle, she's special)

It is better to get this done at 42 though. I only had two wisdom teeth on the top. One came in and was hurting the other teeth so the dentist pulled it. We both had a bad experience, so I went to an oral surgeon to have it removed. I was 20 at the time and it was a bit of a recovery.

fl.gif
I hope it goes well for you!
Mine did that too; I had top only too; I went to an oral surgeon in the first place. Knocked me out, cut those puppies out, DH drove me home and made dinner that night! =D He's the best!!! (except when he puts a Superman logo up on my profile!!!)
Hope all goes well and as painless as possible. My stepson was like nothing happened after he had his done. Eating at McD's right after almost!

I didn't have much trouble, a little pain meds on the day and advil the next day, then eating normally the third day. Hope you have at least as good an experience!!!
-enjoying a nice cup of coffee whilst I can. -off to the oral surgeon in a bit to have teeth cut out. -not certain why the wisdom teeth decided to make a partial appearance at 43 years of age.
somad.gif
Oh, you staved them off that long? Good for you!!! I had to have mine out when I was like 28, and at that point they'd been bothering me through two pregnancies and I couldn't have them out b/c I was nursing otherwise.

They were bothering me for like five years at that point.

If you want only meat, just buy chicks every spring. You will still need quality housing, because everything wants to eat chicken.

If you want eggs, you really need to keep them year round.

Read through some of the info in the Learning Center. There is lots there. Also look through the coop pages.
There is lots of information on this site about
- building a coop with close to no money (the duck coop I built this summer cost me less than $10
- chickens over the winter with no light and no heat
- different ways to make the feed budget stretch with free foods and growing your own chicken feed etc.

And, I love my chickens, and my boys love the chickens too. But, the boys now help me process them. We even sometimes eat the ones we name. No tears, no problems.
What about buying chicks in the winter and then pullets start laying in the spring and then cull them in the autumn (as egg production slows anyway) and then start all over again in Jan/Feb?
I think I'll be the only one crying when we have to start eating the ones we name. (But don't tell the kids, I'll just do it when they're not around, then they'll be strong.)
Summer must be exhausting.
My husband works until it is dark during the summer.
I used to, until I realized that I did not have to keep up with him.
having a baby that needed bed times really helped me get out of that mind set.

Now the kid stays up later than us.
I'm old.

I am on the other side of that Neil Young song now.
I had to learn that too; having kids helped me learn that I also didn't have to keep up with him in addition to doing "my job" with the kids (SAHM).

Same here.
Me too.

Well, I hope that yours was addressed and remedied and all is well today!

(I might consider milking this thing a bit and gettin' the daughter to clean up the chickens tonight

.)
I hope you did!!!

All is well. -wasn't bad at all, and didn't take nearly as long as I thought (but I wasn't knocked out, either). -good, serious local anesthesia and it was done! The nose and jaw are numb which is a hoot!
lau.gif
I beth your talthing funnthy!!!
Glad it was not bad!!! =)

There is no 'imperfect' coffee - some is just better than others -- unless of course it's decaf, and that's not really coffee.
