Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Factories buy their birds from factories. ( I know that sounded dumb..... But the big giant factory type houses that have only egg layers, buy those egg layers from big factory type houses that raise chicks)

The point is, they don't buy from auctions.

The chickens from auctions go to backyard breeders , backyard egg producers, not giant dark buildings.

So no risk of someone buying the birds and turning them into a dog food or something of the like then?

I'm rather animal welfare oriented. I know that chickens are food, but I want to make sure they do not have their beaks clipped, are crammed into tiny cages or otherwise made to suffer.

Good morning to all of my friends in Chickenland. The coffee is delicious and I have a few extra minutes to enjoy it since we are authorized to come in 2 hours late this morning. The temperature is 30 degrees and there don't appear to be any ice. It is snowing very lightly. When I went out to check the weather I could just see some tiny flakes falling. It looked like a light mist and my truck looked really dusty. It took a minute to realize it was snow. I think that should be enough to warrant a snow day in Middle Georgia. North of Macon there was considerably more ice and snow.

Snow days in Macon makin' me nervous. We can not survive that kind of cold down here.

My family left me 1/2 cup of coffee this morning. My son offered to make me another pot, but that might have been too much coffee for one person to consume all by herself...
Making 1/2 pot just doesn't turn out right.
dilemma.

We are finally getting a break from the brutal weather. Enjoying my coffee while sitting by the fire and looking out on the frozen lake. 29 degrees this morning. Heat wave!
