Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

When I came home from work, my kitty came home. I'm so glad, but she's obviously hurt. There's no blood or anything. My poor baby!

And I can't afford to take her to the vet either. Plus I'm working my second job until 8 tonight!

keep her warm and make sure she has food and water.

Look her over for puncture wounds. They often do not have blood, but a swollen spot with a hole. If so, you will need to clean it up and get some triple anti bio tic on it.

No, Dog or Cat usually.
Oh ok, like she got into a fight with another cat or a dog. Definitely possible. There's plenty of both out here, and no leash laws either. Everyone's pets roam at will. My cats usually stay in the yard though, especially since I got them both fixed.

Possum or raccoon fight too is possible! Thank goodness she's home! Hope she is better quick!!

Or fox or coyote; although if it were a coyote she most likely would not have returned.
All these critters will leave a wound that you do not see right away but will often fester and require an anti biotic from the vet. look especially close to the back bone near the tail

Ron, I too have noted the frequency of wounds in that area. Do you think it's because the cat is nailed while running away? Feral cat prior to our present adoptee had an abscess at the base of his tail sloughing down one of his hind legs. I provided antibiotics in his food and he managed to heal. I worked with a vet for many years and noted that many cat bite wounds were located as you have described.

Yes, I do believe it is from running away and or jumping as the attack happens. The predator is likely aiming for the neck but cats are very fast!
