I blame the dog - for many things.

Our dog was actually eating one of DS's spelling papers on evening.

The dog really did eat his homework!!!

I made him redo it. No blaming things on my fur-babies!!!

Two more signs of spring. Today the tree swallows returned

also the black flies.

I KWYM. We're awaiting the return of the mosquitoes!

But the gnats are all over the place!!!

Not ice!!!! we stand a chance of getting that first too. I would rather a foot of snow than an inch of ice.
Snow you can get rid of and doesn't take down tree limbs nearly as quickly!!!

Sign of spring here today too
87* so I washed a few chickens.
The road runners are out in huge numbers catching lizards and snakes
I wish they ran at night and would get that Rat that keeps getting in my coop

Oh, no!!! They have some zapper thing they talk about for mice and rats on the natural chicken keeping thread

OH! Very small amounts are liquid at noonish....but not right now in the early morning.


Yep, lots of snow and ice covered ponds, but for the last few days my driveway, at 2pm in the afternoon has developed some "swallow your entire car" spots.

I shake my head in amazement when you talk about these things. I just can't even imagine them. Mosquitoes covering a car, I can imagine, but not what is essentially water piled up to cover your car.

Good morning everyone. I am s new subscriber on this thread. I expect to visit often as we canceled our TV service yesterday. We are looking 80 degrees and thunderstorms today. I am also impatiently waiting for the birth of a llama any day.

Impatient waiting doesn't work for birth; it's the nonchalant, indifferent waiting that works best. Oh, and giving up altogether and resolving yourself to the fact that it's never coming out, that works after a week or two.
And don't forget the cup of coffee the caffeine speeds up time.

checked the incubator before my first cup, eight chicks, at least one of each of the breeds....now going to get my second cup

That's what I've been doing wrong with hatching; I haven't been standing over the incubator with a cup of coffee in my hand, no wonder I can't get them to come out!!! I'll try that with this hatch. I'll post signs in the incubator:

I spend more time on this thread than on any other.


I had to take a picture of one of my little Blue Ameracauna chick with cross beak. The hatchery is going to refund but I so wanted 2 of them. It's pretty severe already and it just started Sunday. Her legs aren't all slate either. Mostly pinkish with a little gray at the top on one side of one leg. The other I got is doing great. As are the EEs. They are still at the cute fuzzy stage but its going quickly. the chicks are over a week old already!

I can't do incubating right; a friend of mine is going to show me next month. I'm sure there will be a whole lot so that's how ya do it moments.

But I have a hen who I think might go broody soon. And I'm going to try that aluminum foil trick with one of my sex-links that I think might go broody for me.

Well, Sour waved his broody wand over my hens, so you could just send them to me and I'll put them under my hens!!!

@TeaChick I can tell you how I get my smileys on... I cut and paste on my computer and On my "stupid" phone I have to "save" the image to my photos and then upload it as a picture...but it's a secret so don't tell anyone about it.
Way to cut and paste. Why work harder than we have to!
BTW the painting is done for now but you're welcome anytime for coffee or tea
