If you have experience hatching you could hatch. I am not great at hatching so I ordered poults and then I got some eggs from a friend after one of my hens went broody and she hatched them for me. lol If you want some really nice birds order from Country Hatchery in Ok. they have some of Mr. Frank Reese's stock and his are about the best in our country. :) That is who I got most of mine from but also Porters rare turkey are wonderful birds!

Thanks for the advice!!!
I'm sorry I'm only just getting to catch up. I haven't even looked at my computer since last Thursday, then I had company on Sunday and yesterday, and yesterday and today I haven't been feeling well.
I'll check into Country Hatchery. Thanks! I'll also look up Mr. Frank Reese. and I'll look at Porters.
Yeah, I have some experience hatching chicken eggs, but most of it isn't good. =( I'm still practicing though. But I've got some chickens I hope will go broody and then I won't have to hatch, but who hatches because they have to, right? lol

Hi to all, I'm sorry I'm not replying to everything. I skimmed the first two pages for my name...

I'm pretty tired today. My grandparents called on Friday and asked if it was alright that they come on Sunday and maybe Monday. Of course, I said sure, no problem, and then accordingly woke up with a headache on Sunday morning. They came in the afternoon, so I was able to rest a little in the morning, but getting ready and going out to dinner with them was all I was able to do yesterday, otherwise, I slept and sat around with a headache. Woke up with it again today, but I was feeling a little more peppy and didn't have anywhere to go. So I had a pajama day and sat around in sweats all day. Did a little school work (that was late b/c I felt so badly yesterday, when it was due), and I fixed a little bit of my own food today. But DH was kind enough to make coffee and reheat me a scone for b-fast and DD made me warm spinach and apple salad with tortilla wedges. Everyone's been so good to me and helped with picking up the slack and all. Enough of that! lol

I have eggs in the bator. I have one that's been in for like four weeks or something now!

Hatch, already, won't ya??? She was a shipped egg; she started developing late and then developed slowly; there were 8 to begin with, but I've lost all but this one. I hope she hatches today; if not, I'm going to candle tonight and see whether I should assist. I'm still seeing veins up by the air cell and they're getting smaller (thinner) so I'm trying really hard to leave her alone and let her do it herself and not interfere and....sit on my hands. It does help that I haven't felt up to doing much beyond checking the temp the past few days.

I also have some of my own eggs in another bator. I lost one, it was cracked. Last time I candled, a few days ago, I had three that looked like they had already quit, weird. Anyway, I plan on candling tonight, if I'm up to it, and seeing if I have any obvious quitters. My hens lay very thick-shelled eggs and I only have brown ones in there right now, so they're pretty hard to see through.

Well, I'll stop rambling and see what everyone else has been saying today.

I wish this were always true - sadly, we have had contact with one with whom this may not be the case.

You're right. I have had friends who brushed their teeth all the time and did everything the dentist said, and they still got cavities; and I've had friends that were more lax in their oral hiegeine habits and they never had a cavity. Weird. I guess some are just prone to that kind of thing and others just aren't.
Everyone should brush their teeth twice a day and floss and all that stuff. But I don't think ppl who have trouble with their teeth are necessarily to blame for how difficult their dentist visits are.

My brother works at a coffee shop and brings home the best type of coffee for free!
