That would be a good idea, except that spiced pumpkin pie and bourbon pumpkin cheesecake is the only squash I eat... And we roast our own pumpkin, so ours is actual pumpkin; although, we end up with one can of pumpkin every year and we use it, but most of what we make is from fresh pumpkin that we've roasted ourselves.

So for my craving tonight I made homemade chocolate pie with fresh whip cream!

As to pumpkin pie, it's not something that's eaten too often around here, but my dad made a tasty pumpkin pie last weekend. It needs a lot of ginger in my opinion though, pumpkin itself isn't that tasty.

Me too, except we go for mostly cinnamon; I don't care much for a lot of ginger.

I Am trying to finish the treadle feeder I started a while ago.
I'm into the finish phase now that I have overcome the the mechanical and design problems this thing had some of which were of my own making. LoL
In my continuing efforts to make my life more difficult I tend to make things more complex than then they have to be, this project has been no exception.
I'm sure if I ever build another one it would be a lot easier and faster to build.
Now more coffee and on to applying some paint.
I will post pictures when it's done.

It is funny that ketchup has such a bad reputation. It was originally a fish sauce. It is also a good source of lycopene.

One of my Uncles likes ketchup so much that he thought french fries were only for picking up the ketchup...

I like tomatoes, but not store-bought ketchup, but I do like homemade, fermented ketchup.

My husband (and most of our children) like it that much.

Okay then, What about hot sauce? What am I allowed to put that on?

My DH likes hot sauce almost as much as he likes ketchup and mayonnaise. The weirdest thing he's put it on (I think it was Frank's, not Chholula, although we keep both in the house plus some combination of at least ten others)..........was a miniature Snicker's bar. So, since he defiled chocolate with it, I"m going to say anything you want.

No, I still have a sense of taste. I think that's the problem. I know some people who will put tabasco on everything, that is just ruining food in my opinion.

Nothing like a good Authentic Mexican Hot Sauce. So many of the others have too much vinegar.

True. Cholula has loads of flavor!!!!! It's one of my favorites. I especially like the chipotle one. (I'm glad I'm better at eating than I am at spelling...

Try one once.... with salted caramel on it.... OMG.

My favorites as a kid were ones that were candied using cinimon (I really hate that word) candies melted then the apple is dipped in and coated.... The candy shell is sooo hot it cooks the apple a bit from the outside in.... Great taste combo...

I dont eat them often and probalby have had one candied apple in the past thirty years but I have fond memories of them at the fair and at Halloween time.

putting the wire ceiling on my new chicken pen.
I am using Alaskan's idea to support chicken wire with a heavy gauge mesh, I chose 4x16 cattle panels, total cost of wire for ceiling is 50 cents a square foot. The panels needed wood support every 3.5 feet to prevent sagging (without a snow load), I will see what winter does to my project.
free pea fowl are not free when they require another pen!

We use safety netting for pen ceilings, and long narrow pieces of wood to support it.
