Wow - just caught up on 8 pages of posts! Hi everyone - I moved 10 yards of sawdust without damaging anything and I finished painting the run- in shed before the next snow storm. Coffee and bourbon now - life is good.

it means a thick layer of ice on top of the layer of snow.
And I, OF COURSE, still have summer tires on...not winter tires.
I am happy to slip slip slide down my driveway AFTER the snow berms are high enough to keep me from rolling down the hill.....but as of this moment we have no berms to help the car stay on the road.
Rolling my car down the side of the hill would cost me a great deal of money.
I am ALWAYS late in putting on my snow tires, because I hate the thought of wearing down my expensive studs on clean roads. I want to make sure that there is a layer of ice and snow everywhere I go, before I put those expensive things on.
I left Texas because too many non-Texans kept moving into the state,I don't like people..... also I was running away from the in-laws.......unfortunately, they followed us up here.![]()

I also CLEARLY was deluded when I thought that I could be happy in the cold.
Spouse said that we got ONE, and ONLY ONE move after marriage....... so, if I wanna move, spouse has to die (diabolical laugh)
@TeaChick We've got laminate floors, but from the robots point of view, they're no different from the hardwood. It also does well on ceramic tiles, or plastic floors. A carpet floor shouldn't be a problem either. We don't have thick rugs, those would probably problematic for it, but other carpets it's fine on. And it switches between surfaces well. Adding the pet brush to it made it more quiet, and it works better on carpets. For us, it's been really great since you can program it to go off whenever you want. Our's does a daily cleaning on weekdays at 14.00 (that's 2 pm for you Yanks). It is a lot slower than vacuuming yourself, so it's good to let it do it while you're away from home. And another benefit it has, is that socks and other similar things will get tangled in it and stop it from working, so it forces you to tidy up stuff every day. Reflective surfaces and low furniture can be a problem though. I had to add a ½inch elevating bit to our couch, because it kept getting stuck under it. Now it works like a charm. Before the couch was about 2mm lower than the Neato, so it got stuck. It also comes with 7 feet of magnetic strip which you can place under a carpet if you don't want it to go on it. You can buy more of the magnetic strip. Watching videos where the Neato was compared to the Roomba, I liked the Neato better, because it works in a more systematic way. The Roomba had a very random pattern, while the Neato does one room at a time, moving in straight lines. And it goes around obstacles and furniture nicely too. I haven't seen a Roomba in action in real life though.
just called the car shop.... everyone else who had been procrastinating called earlier this morning than I did.![]()

This time of year, you'll always get the same headline in the papers, "Winter surprised drivers". This year they changed it a bit. It was "Guess what surprised the drivers?"

Ok, any knowledgeable folks out there;
I just finally noticed my feather is gone which I assume means my subscription ran out. How do you keep track of such things? I take it we are not sent renewal notices???
I guess we are going to have to go pick up some tarps to block the wind from the new polar vortex coming in this next week.
