Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Got a late start this AM.

I always "park" my mug on the Keurig metal grate when I am through with any drinking coffee session. Apparently, last night some time time I brewed a cup but forgot about it.

My usual morning routine is to turn on the brewer, place a K-cup, feed the cat and add water to the dogs' dish, then punch the Brew button. Go open the coop, top off the feeders, spend a few sleepy moments watching the flock, then return to the kitchen to get my first fresh cup of coffee.

The mug was absolutely, totally full to the very brim. It's a LARGE mug. But I don't want to waste any coffee - horrors! - so I took a sip. Already slightly cooler than perfect drinking temperature (which is why I let the chickens out whilst the Keurig does its thing).

So I have already had two cups without making a second trip into the kitchen.

I am glad you did not return to a mess.
I have a big black mug that the handle is the same distance from the top as it is from the bottom. many a dim sleepy morning it has been upside down and I pour hot coffee all over the counter and everything next to it. One should not have to clean up a mess before the first cup of coffee.
I am surprised my husband has not thrown it out already...except the handle is big enough for him to get his fingers in it. it is a love/ hate relationship.

Sounds like something I would do.

Another early morning 'trick' is firing up the Keurig and forgetting to place a cup in position.
