I hate gloves, but my hands hurt here under this snowdrift. Anyone got a cup of coffee they can spare?

I will dribble some down the straw......careful not to inhale, it will be coming down pretty hot.

Morning fellow coffee folks

I'm back, did you miss me? Power out for awhile and since the temps were only just a few degrees below freezing we didn't drag out the generators. Wind is still howling so we will probably lose power again. No biggy for us, we're prepared. Feel really sorry for city folks or those not equipped when this happens.

Speaking of which, prayers going out to those to the south. What a rough 24 hours for many folks. Hoping all my coffee buddies and their chickies are ok.

Ahhh, I hear the sweet sound of my pot doing its final gurgle announcing my coffee is done!!! How I missed you!!! (I really, REALLY hate instant coffee)

Coffee making was always the first chore after getting the generator cranking.

We now have an automatic system that kicks in immediately if we lose power. Only took us 49 years to get there. Too dang old to fool with portable generators anymore.

Do hear you on that!! Best we could do for now was we had bought a bigger one last year and finally had a "Iightbulb moment" this summer. We just parked the thing on the back porch close to the door and hubby built a box over it. Duh.

Needing more and more coffee these days to get that darn bulb to light up!

I am huddled on the couch, drinking my coffee, watching the sun rise. (9:10 today) silly catalytic flap on the wood stove busted again. Super hard to get the fire going without smoking the house up, when the catalytic is on.

Chickisoup, you need to have a wood stove, a kettle for the wood stove, and a french press.

No power is OK, no coffee is sad.

- just finished watering the lawn, herbs, flower beds, and rose garden. -gonna turn the chickens out for some "free-range" time......and grab the afternoon cup of coffee. -'bout 63 degrees with splendid sunshine. -'tis a good day.
