Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I've been to Florida in mid July - no thanks.

I don't mean to be stinker.
You all really do have my respect.
My Swedish ancestors gave up on cold and moved to Fla when it was still all swamp.
I say move on down.

Ft lauderdale is in the high 70's.
My 73 year old Mom told us on Thanks Giving that Florida and Texas are two States she would never go to.

I really do not know why.

We have one that monitors the food bowl and if it looks like there is not enough food in it she goes through the house meowing at the top of her lungs.

I was laughing at the rooster this morning. The Rosecomb Bantam who sleeps on the high perch outside of the coop was crowing as loud as he could at 5:30 this morning 2 hours before sunup. It was 27 degrees out. I could see all of those hens huddled together in the warm coop irritated by the little loud mouthed bantam waking them up that early on a cold morning. I was thinking that if I were one of those hens I would be slapping him about now.

I live in an area where there a lot of people from all over the country. Some of them from up North say they miss the snow and they really can't stand the hot muggy summers. I have spent some time farther north in the winter. and I will take the mild winters and hot Summers over the cold and snow in the winter. I was 15 before I had seen more than a few snow flurries.

...because she must have been here (Texas) in the summer! If I hadn't been born here, I wouldn't come here either.
