Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

1) Sources say Polar Vortex and Artic Blasts are caused by Alaskan voles that are overworked and panting too hard.

2) Chicken math 102 is required, But 101 will get you accepted.:old
3) Mom always said "Share and Share alike" - whatever that means.:idunno

It's all Alaskan's fault!!

Yes, yes it is! :D

No more cold weather here!

I think all of the voles, madly working to "clean" my kitchen worked up such a sweat that the snow melted.

Alaskan...thought you might find this amusing - this is a conversation had between my family at the supper table -

Me: I want to live in Alaska.
Sister: But you can't have chickens there.
Me: Actually, you can.
Dad: Yeah, they're called penguins.

LOL. My brother, of course, went on to point out penguins don't live in Alaska. But that makes it not funny.

:D

Actually, all Alaskans own sled dogs, play with penguins and live in igloos....oh, wait, Hummmmmm

I have no more snow

Of course it's all gone! It's headed for VA TODAY! 64 yesterday at 5 pm, 42 at 6:30 pm, 25 at 6:30 this morning and 22 now. Snow on the way and wind blowing! Maybe I'll move to Alaska. It's warmer!!!! Thank goodness for coffee, but wait, I'm a wimp and the Almond Joy creamer is gone. Got to fight the hoards for creamer.

Of course it's all gone. It slid down the volcano and all the way to Florida

Good -22F morning all :caf with a "you must be joking" wind chill.

We do however at least have some snow. For those of you who don't already know, snow acts as an insulator to protect the plants from the cold. Unfortunately we only have about 18", far below what we need to protect things and keep the frost depth from going to China. Really not looking forward to gardening this year. It's just depressing to think about all my mature herbs and perennials, they are all surely toast, sigh. Sorry. Guess the confinement is getting to me. Too darn cold to even go out and move drifts.

My heart goes out to all you southerners and your critters. You guys are just not prepared for this crazy weather.

We are hovering at about 20 degrees this morning (which is cold, here). It is actually not too bad because there is no wind. -chickens won't leave the coop. -heat lamp is keeping the water from freezing inside. They prefer to stay indoors where everything is thawed. -suppose they'll venture out by around noon. -should be at least 32 degrees by then (and I can fill the 5 gallon waterer so they'll have plenty to drink without it being frozen solid). We don't invest in anything "heated" around these parts. -just don't need it.....that often.

-enjoying a nice cup of coffee before bundling up for a tranquil morning walk with the hubby.

Like I said I'd be happy to share. We are at 54+ inches this year we have up to 30 inches on the ground in spots but I guess the average is 24 inches or so. You can have mine I'm done with it for the winter. ;)
