@Alaskan I will check Big Coop page today!. I too have been checking out the "coops" pages. I'm getting a few Silkies from my previous neighbor this spring, so I need a proper place to keep them! Not sure how they'll mingle with the big girls or vice versa! My neighbor and I were always doing things together, the same thing, not actually on purpose either! We're just very similar in tastes. Her husband calls us " Lucy and Ethyl!" We just think alot alike. So in 2012 (with me having moved away years earlier), we both started keeping chickens! Neither of us knew for over a year that the other was addicted to chicks! Love it! She raises Silkies and I like the colored egg basket kinds of regular size!
And I'm glad you've got heat going!!

I've bought an inexpensive child's sled and use that to haul the heavy stuff through/over the snow. I carry my water in milk jugs. I can cap them so they don't spill. Works like a charm. Otherwise even if I am balanced I'd still manage to spill or even fall over!

Another -27 F this morning but the weather guy PROMISES it's the last time! At least for near future

My girls house needs a serious cleaning! I scoop the poop every day but the stufff frozen to the roost ramps etc. ain't movin' even with a chisel till it thaws out!

I also have one girl in serious need of a bottom wash but that's a no go until the outside temp at least gets into the +20's for a few hours. Yes, of course, she'll get the blow dry spa treatment but I don't want to risk her getting chilled if I missed a spot. I also have to get her new saddle on her. My crazy teenager roo has decided she's his favorite and let's just say he is still getting the "knack" of things and it's costing her a more than a few feathers!!!

It doesn't help that he's a heritage Aussie and she's a little 3 yr old sex-link! Can you say SQUISH???

IMO, the only spouses that aren't the sort that "must be put up with," are just so good at manipulation, their spouses don't know what's going on.

I too am one who "is put up with". Well as far as the animals are concerned anyway. DSO is really a softie inside though. He said no cats allowed, WE have 2. He reminds me every year to get them their check up too

I said no chickens. I got chickens anyway! He LAUGHED at me and reminds me every time chicken math kicks in!
