My father is manic...so I understand, there is no keeping up with that. (he is actually bi-polar with severe manic phases).
Oh my that is a lot of work!

Grand father, a cousin and a Niece were and are Manic Depressive. We worked all summer one year Salvaging his Manic Projects....Lots of Iron and Steel went to the scrap yard.

My father's newest thing is to march in every parade..for every American holiday for miles and hours on end..at nearly 80 then he cannot stand without wearing as he puts it 'ladies panty hose' to support his busted veins in his legs..good grief my mom has her hands full. No iron or steel projects YET thank goodness. Although he did go through a collecting all power washed brick phase and there are still stacks and stacks all over my parents back yard..on a good note if I ever need any bricks my mom is happy to give me any I might need (when my dad is out of the house that is) Lol..

My Grandpa retired and decided to go into the large equipment re sale business. He would buy something, like an old Diesel truck and then go into depression. When back to manic he then abandoned that one and would buy something like a road grater.....Terribly wasteful. I got lots of practice with a cutting torch that summer.....He also bought a lot of scrap at auctions.

Oh my gosh that would be a lot of work. On a good note, I'm sure you learned a lot and got a lot of practice using a torch!
