I have a question:
The paper towel I wrapped around the white egg is dry. What do I do? Re-wet it? Leave it dry? Remove it?
Re wet it.
Is the chick ready to peal out? The veins need to stop bleeding.

They are Pita Pintas. One of their Mom's is my avatar picture.
I was on an overnight trip to my Mom's place in the mountains. We hiked to Summit lake in Lassen National Park.
It was nice!
Ooooh. Vacation. I am envious. BTW I am very dissapointed, I only had one Spanish hatch.Maybe one day when my kids are gone I might settle down to working on a specific breed or two, but for now, I am loving my mixed flock.![]()
I am sorry that only one hatched!
They are very nice looking.
Me too. I am sure it was due to less than perfect incubation but I hatched 9 Phoenix, 3Buttercups, 3 cochin mix, 1 silkie, 1 Spanish and I inherited a Moscovy duckling so that will keep me busy for a while.![]()
