Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Hi everyone! I am back after non-stop visitors to the farm. And we got a baby bantam frizzle and a baby bunny from the chicken lady at the old fashioned fair where they plow with oxen and use butter churns and spinning wheels. And my baby BO from chickwhispers are laying eggs! They are tiny and perfect

So sorry TeaChick about your little hatchling.

Yeah that's why I can't hatch. 1) I cant wait and 2) I couldnt handle all the grief and disappointment when it doesn't go right.

Oh, it hasn't died. I'm sorry for auto-correct.

When I got the egg opened a little, I wet the membrane so I could see and the chick moved! So I put a wet paper towel around it and put it back in.

Yeah, I'm not hatching a lot anymore, but I seem to always find an excuse to put just a few eggs in the incubator and see what comes out.

DH is even on board with it. He said (and I quote), "You're going to fret about something, it may as well be something you like/enjoy."

That's what he said, so I'm taking it!!!

Hatch away, baby! Hatch away!!!

See the cute little critters I get when I hatch eggs?

DD wants to know what this chick is, Ron.
It is super cute!!!

Ooooh. Vacation. I am envious. BTW I am very dissapointed, I only had one Spanish hatch.

Maybe one day when my kids are gone I might settle down to working on a specific breed or two, but for now, I am loving my mixed flock.

I've enjoyed my mixed flock, but I'm phasing them out. I think we're settling on three flocks (eggs, meat, and brooding). I keep hatching my backyard eggs though, just for the extra eggs (or meat, depending on the sex). Either way, I enjoy it. =D

When my kids are grown and gone, I'm going to settle down to working on a specific vacation or two, but for now, my kids keep me sleeping well (when they let me sleep) at night.

Drink lots of coffee too!

I missed my coffee while I was away. I had to make an espresso when I got home--after checking on the chickens of course!

who goes to DunkinDonuts Happy hour? I do ! it is one dollar any size!

I keep trying to tell DH there's a DD in the next county (where we do our grocery shopping; yes, that's how far out in the sticks we live), but he doesn't believe me. I miss DD coffee, but he prefers Starbuck's, so we go there, but $1 any size, that's worthwhile at least sometimes. Thanks!!!

That's awesome! Eggs and relaxing with coffee! The eggs will get bigger but they are so little and cute when they start laying!

We dont have have a Dunkin Donuts nearby. That's bad and good. Bad because I like donuts. Good because I really LIKE donuts. :/

so cute! I just can't stand it! I am hoping that the silver one goes back and sits on her eggs that aren't due until Friday.

Either which way, I think she would skin me alive, if I tried to retrieve the eggs. I am not brave enough to go get them.

The chick is a show quality stock silkie. I test hatched them for a local BYCr. They hatched very nicely too.

I usually take coffee with me. I was hoping that my Mom would have some good beans at her place. They were ok but a bit stale.
