Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Trip went well. It wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Puppy was quiet and even caught a couple winks on my lap on the way down. We headed out at 6:30 am and got there just after 11:00. making a couple quick stops along the way. We had a nice visit though we only stayed about an hour because we could see Emil's brother was tiring. It was also miserably hot and humid!!! We headed back north taking a nicer more scenic route. We hit heavy rain a couple hours from home but it was actually a blessing. It cooled things down and the rain was heavy but not storming. We hoped we were getting some of it at home too. It was so calming puppy slept soundly in my arms the rest of the way. We made it home well before dark to find we had finally been blessed with over 1/2" of rain so no dragging out the hoses tomorrow, yea!

It was good we went but I was really glad to be home. Now the waiting to hear how the surgery went. The hard part. At least we have a distraction. Emil's daughter, hubby and the sweet grandkids had already planned a visit for Sunday so sprucing up things a bit will give us something to keep busy.

The chick is a show quality stock silkie. I test hatched them for a local BYCr. They hatched very nicely too. I usually take coffee with me. I was hoping that my Mom would have some good beans at her place. They were ok but a bit stale.
Yeah for me on chick ID! Thought that one looked extra fluffy.

I hope what I am sharing here will be a word of encouragement to you. I know what the "C" word can do and the power it can hold, if we let it. With your permission may I add you to my prayers? My God has been a great source of strength during my own journey thru the "valley" as well.

WARNING! IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, DO NOT READ ON!!!

I really thought after all the blessings and miracles in my life already that I might have hit my "quota" . Fortunately it appears I had not hit my credit limit on Grace. First, I had my appointment on Wednesday to my oncologist to check how I was doing with the Leukemia. It is a very long drive and was not happy with taking my sick little Angel on a roadtrip, but there was no choice. Fortunately, she did very well, tho with the fever we had to up the air conditioning to keep her comfortable. Anyway, not only were my tests good, I am still in remission!

Ok, here comes the real miracle part...... I already told you we have a MAJOR roadtrip on Monday to visit my husband's brother before the brain surgery to remove the tumor wrapped around the main artery to his brain. The trip is not optional of course, and our puppy would have to go along no matter what the test results said was wrong with her ( vet was thinking maybe Blastomycosis but with the mass, likely Lymphoma). We take her to the vet this morning to hear the results and...........................
Well.........here it comes.................the eyes so cloudy she could barely see thru are now clear,,,,the mass on the side of her head is gone,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
and all the tests, every one, came back NEGATIVE!!!!

I humbly thank you, Lord.
Thank you so much for the encouragement! :) And I'm so happy to hear of your miracle! I'm very glad you shared that.

Howdy! We've missed you too!!! Wish we could have been there for you when you found out; that must have been hard. It's wonderful to look at it as an opportunity to walk somewhere you wouldn't have otherwise gone.
Take care of yourself!!!
It's good to have you back!

Thank you TeaChick! It's good to be back. ;)

Silkie is what she guessed. She'll be pleased. We started out with the idea that they would either give us breakfast or become dinner. We've added in clauses to allow god roosters to protect our breakfast makers and we also have a "mascot flock" of Cochin bantams, but extra males and hens that don't lay anymore..... Not "stale". "aged". ;)
:th so cute! I just can't stand it! I am hoping that the silver one goes back and sits on her eggs that aren't due until Friday. Either which way, I think she would skin me alive, if I tried to retrieve the eggs. I am not brave enough to go get them.
I don't blame you for being afraid of getting between a mom and her babies!

@chickisoup good to hear the trip went well. Hope the surgery does too.

Posting on my phone messes up my ability to express myself. :(
But, it allows me to post that I'm outside. :D
Sat in the new coop for a few minutes this morning.
Now, I'm sitting around watching water boil. I'm reducing lye water, so I'm still outside. I'm going to make LOTS of soap this winter, so I won't have to sit in the summer heat making soap next summer.
Coffees good; DH walked through the kitchen at just the right time to put the right amount of cream inn my coffee. :drools
