I think this came from DragonLady (South Carolina). I have never used any of these and do not know if they are effective or safe.
Worming.......MOST IMPORTANT
All babies are wormed with Wazine in their water at 2 + 3 weeks. Wazine is
never used again .
Safeguard 10 % Goat wormer, alternating with Valbazan at 4 weeks, 6,8,10,
12, 14 weeks
1/4 cc at 4,6,8 weeks
1/2 cc at 10,12,14 weeks.
5 mos on...... I check fecals, and worm about 4 times a year with the
Safeguard, or with Valbazan. 1 CC per Big bird over 8 lbs., repeating in
10-14 days.
Coops are sprayed with liquid PERMETHRIN about 4 times a year. Birds are
sprayed, 4 times a year with diluted Permethrin for lice and mites.
Quote: Oh yes chickadoodles!!! Gorilla Glue!!! Hubby uses so much of the stuff we can't keep it in the house. For some reason he uses tons of the stuff in the winter![]()
Vet wrap is great for everything. I have had to use it on a chicks leg from a predator trying to pull him thru the fence and pulled his let out of it's socket. And on a turkeys wing from it flying thru the run and hitting a post and hurt it's wing. And my DH cut his hand on a gate working cows and I had to bandage it and put the vet wrap over it to keep the bandage on. It is very handy!
It's a good thing you have not hurt a wrist.
no prob. Because they are caged next to each other, I really only worry about anything airborn. Usually they don't contact eachothers droppings.
Sorry, I have never had to do it either. I would post on the disease thread and do a overall BYC search and read some threads already out there.
I would too!!! Next time I buy a roll, I plan on getting orange (then I'll have Miami Dolphins colors!!!)I had some vein removal done on my legs a few years ago. I underwent several procedures and after each was wrapped from toe to groin with a variety of gauze, vet wrap, and ace bandages. Of course they didn't call it vet wrap, but it was the same thing, only in boring old skin color. I now have a drawer full of ace bandages, and recycled vet wrap ever ready for any medical emergency. I also aquire a small length of it anytime I give blood. Those I get in color. ;-)
When you are done giving blood theyput a little pad on the spot hey take the needle out then wrap it down with vet wrap to hold it in place. I did bumblefoot surgery a wile back and the bird had vet wrap on that said "Give blood, save lives". Lol
I like to bring different breeds just to show fairgoers that not all chickens are the same.

I need another cup of attitude. Mine is still sleepy.
Vet wrap and duct tape. Could not function on this place without them.
For all repairs--- If it can move, vet wrap. If it doesn't, duct tape.
(must supervise DH with the duct tape or he just uses it on everything!!! )
Wait don't forget gorella glue! We had to fix a valve stem on a tire to get some hay and we used gorella glue and it is over a year later and it's still holding air! We use a lot of duct tape here also!![]()
My kids have made a fantastic wallet out of duct tape.
That is very cute! Won't be able to beat them off with a stick now. lol
Quote: Yes those are great! I had a kid completely cover her pants in duct tape for a thing at school. Crazy!![]()
So cute!! Do you raise ducklings with your chickies? We inherited 2 ducklings and I don't know anything about them.
