Oh, no! Sorry to hear about the barn.

Many years ago, my husband and I worked at the same nursery for a while. One day, we were replacing the end plastic on a greenhouse, and were using the bucket on the tractor as a mobile scaffold to reach the top. My husband was in the bucket, and he was instructing me on how to operate the tractor from there. When the owner saw us, he said we had given him a brand-new idea on how to teach people to drive the tractor; put something they care very much about in the bucket. You can bet, I wasn't going to be bashing that bucket into walls with my husband in it!

Awwww! So sorry! DSO'S son let the 7 year old granddaughter drive the old UTV six years back when she couldn't reachthe pedals except to sit at the edge of the seat. She ran into corner of the brand new pole building he had put up on the farm property in Michigan. The big dent is still there.

Next weekend the better half and I are going to a agricultural expo, they have a llama agility show there

@Puddin Fluff Did you reset your router? Usually helps with minor issues, unless the ISP is having a problem. But plug it out for 15 seconds and plug it back in and see what happens.

SOOOOOO with you. I have been plowing for years now, I still tell people to make sure all important things are far away from where I plow... the visibility is so poor in that plow truck, it is easy to hit stuff and run over stuff.

On the way to church I checked my chickens in the bantam coop. Child had given them fresh food and water, but had NOT opened the pop door.

I opened it up so that they could come out and eat and drink. They were very hungry...before the time change this would have been about 10, and they hadn't eaten yet! So they come tumbling out of the pop door to make a beeline to the food.....but there is SNOW, deep snow (well, deep for a bantam chicken, 2 to 4 inches). They were trying to perch on the feeder while eating between their legs. One flew over, perched on the food while he ate, but slipped into the snow, panicked and flew to right against the coop where there was a strip of dirt (there is a deep roof overhang).

It was funny watching them trying to balance on this tiny strip of feed at the top of the feeder, and eat almost between their toes.

The little Wyandotte bantams looked the least phased. I wish I could have gotten pictures for you'll!

We got to our nursery this morning and we had lost a roof.
The fortunate bit is we sold enough plants last week to replace it, and it won't get too cold to kill the rest off before we get the new one on.
But still.
I know it is farming, but STILL! 

Do not encourage your young ones into agriculture.
It is better for it to just be a happy hobby.
An expensive hobby.


...like horses.

I know, I grew up on a farm in South Alabama. We were gathering peamuts and cotton every year during hurricane season. We were frequently trying to get something gathered before a hurricane hit. I enjoy the hobbies but I don't wamt any full time farming.

Hubby did a similar thing with the bucket on our old tractor to our new garage last week, again. He can't seem to remember the bucket is wider than the tractor. This from the man who drove all kinds of large vehicles for a living and never had a major accident! (Maybe it was the precious cargo,,,,, he worked for Miller Brewing Co.)

Over the weekend we were pretty busy we sold off half our birds to cut back the numbers of birds we would have to feed for the winter. I had to take 18 rooster to auction and spent 5 hours waiting for them to come up but they all sold! I was so relieved I did not want to have to take any of them home! At least the rest of the birds went to a good home.
Now it should only take me about 20 minutes to feed and water compare to the 1 1/2 - 2 hours it was taking me.
