Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

I cant remember the name of it, but my favorite is jazz something or other. They have several more exotic blends but I like buying the ones that are roasted and blended in my area. That particular one is from the dfw area.

Mornin' everyone

Well, our rain is over and now the freeze warnings for tonight and tomorrow night just went up, sigh.

I checked earlier and of course my beans, etc. have popped up. Oh well, not like I haven't had a lot of practice dealing with this living here. I actually have a large wooden box DH built for me for the specific purpose of holding all the blankets I have collected from rummage sales etc. over the years for just such a purpose. Here's a tip, sheets don't work for a freeze folks. They allow too much air thru which destroys the possible warm air pocket. They are a help in a very light frost to keep the frost from settling on the leaves in some cases. I have had quilts work to get plants thru temps as low as the low/mid 20's with the help of straw. I use other tricks too such as planting the tender stuff like tomatoes in raised beds made with cinder blocks that I have filled the center holes with sand and putting large water bottles that we set out in the sun all day under the blankets when I cover, burying smaller plants in compost and staw and digging them out when the threat is over, etc. etc.

I have come up with so many tricks over the years that I was asked to teach a class on "surviving gardening in the northwoods"

My pride and joy really tho is my herb garden. It has taken me many years of trying in some cases, but I have managed to establish, and finally get to thrive, several perennial herbs that are way out of their normal growing zones.

Ok, enough with the horticulture. Moving on to the bragging grandma!

My eldest granddaughter who just gradutated suma cum laude (sp.?) from Malone University ( a great private Christian College) where she transferred to from Columbia because they offered the specific courses she was looking for in animal studies (she already had her minor in Psychology) has been offered a position by the Columbus Zoo!. Oh, did I mention she is just 21??? She was homeschooled until "officially" graduating highschool at 16.

I am so very proud of my daughter for doing such a great job with both the girls. The little sis is a dance major at Columbia and doing amazing as well.

Ok, grandma is done bragging, for now. Time to get outside and start prepping the gardens for the coming weather. Have a great, and very safe, weekend everyone!

Being locked out is not fun.
Old iphone did NOT transfer all info like I was told they would to the new iphone and months before I had canceled several email address and guess what?
Yup!
I had dumped email addresses I really needed.
My new iphone keyboard works!
The old iphone keyboard disappeared.
Yippppeeeeeee
it works.
Had to reopen closed emails til I hit the correct one.
By the way, I will make sure never to close an email account that has active accounts relying on it ever again.

Morning Eveyone. I just found this thread. I am an avid coffee drinker. I drink it almost exclusively. I like it with just a touch of milk, for color. I can drink it black if I have to. I have a saying that I tell people all the time. Hot,cold or 3 days old.....doesn't matter to me but never any sugar.

Eh, I have to have coffee with sugar. Coffee without is too bitter for my likes.

Mornin and Welcome to the group.... Its just about three am here in San Diego.

I have four shots of espresso for breakfast... Which is normally around eleven AM... Late to bed late to rise... Long story. But I have a split day and night.

I can drink good coffee black... But I love the flavor half n half gives.. Kind of a nutty robust aftertaste. I like it sweetened with artificial sweetener... the pink stuff... My palate is so accustomed to it I cannot do sugar...

I switched to artificial back when Saccharine tablets became available.... then to SweetNLow. Which is still Saccharine... So for me that's 40 years now.

No way! You have the same birthday as Mr. Pidge - I'll definitely remember it from now on
