Sitting with a cup of coffee. (coffee lovers)

Ok so doc ( who is the partner not the one I arrange to see) thinks she is a survivor. He also couldn't tell me male or female without having to put on gloves "Because he would have to touch it and was not going to do that" ( she pooed herself on the way to the vet they cleaned her off but not good enough I guess) Anyway! She is very anemic and would have been the perfect candidate for blood transfusion EXCEPT she is so starved the only vein available would most likely only be the arterial neck veins and "That would probably pose more of a risk than not doing it" " Absolutely No sigh of Maggots So either she never had them :rant or I must have got them all :idunno " She tested positive for tape worms and hook worms. She can be treated for the hook worms but must wait to be treated for the tape worms as she is not old enough. (They judge Kitten age by weight only not activates.) they know she is at least a week old because that is how long it took me to catch her. By weight she is 3 or 4 weeks old 15 oz but I thought kittens couldn't run until like 6 weeks. and :old she was running. They said she might be older because she is very skinny and I should not have given her Chicken food for so long. it is not the best diet for her. :he . Her Body temp was only 95 deg. For the Fleas not old enough so bathe real good with dawn dish soap every couple of days until Fleas are gone. So She is on... amoxidrops 15ml 2x daily Hi-Vite Drops 2x daily Deworming 0.5ml today and then again in 2 weeks. for hook worms they also sold us Feline Urgent care a/d canned food (she scarfed it so I bought it). Re Check in 2 weeks and hopefully treat for tape worms. (By weight again). I will make that appt with the Dr. who is not afraid to touch cat parts without gloves and who understands me when I speak. So I will do all the Doc said to and I will pray for her as well. DH won out on the name she is Maggie (DH said it is Cute for Maggot) Please no offense if you are or have a Maggie. So Maggie is in Chicken Hospital at my house for as long as it takes to treat the tape worm because I am not wanting to do that for the other 4 Ladies who live here. Now Maggie (the punk) moved in and is currantly a 120.00 special needs, sickly Kitten. God Bless America and Husbands who love their wives.
Great news! Praying she makes it! Sounds slightly worse than my rescue litter, but they were pretty close, and all made it, so I have hope in yours!

My younger brother had a cat named Maggie for almost 20 years; I think it's a great name!

After everything I put her through yesterday with the de-maggoting bathing and blow drying the combing with my eyebrow comb (couldn't find the flea or lice comb) The handling the eye drops face washes with wash cloth ...

She is either a fighter who wants to live
highfive.gif
or Brain damaged. (if this is the case she will fit right in here

)

On the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time and the animals run to see what nonsense the Crazy Lady is up to now.

The maggots were likely tape worm segments. It is easy to confuse those.

She will do much better with the hook worms gone.

Keep us updated!

Hmm I thought tape worms were flat and long.

these things were small round and it took hornet spray to kill the ones that did come off her. I did not spray the kitten with hornet spray I used a vinegar / water blast to make them leave the wound cavity and it worked pretty well since doc didn't see anything inside the wound.

I know the first rule is to bring some to the vet but in all honesty I did not think DH would allow me to take it to the vet. He is a do at home guy animals or human.
