Yeah Yeah,.... I'm the one that bursts out laughter in the middle of the grocery store when I finally get a joke told the day before.

you don't like it don't look right . I meen really this is completely natural

Pretty much. Like I said, I'm very discreet about it. I have a sling, which is great b/c it looks like I'm just carrying the baby.
Not only is it natural, it's the best thing for both the baby and the mom. =)

The ones that came out of the skin on her hip looked different than the bum ones the skin ones were white round and looked like they had a brownish or gold spot on the front.
Is it possible for Tape worms to come out from inside the skin and not just the butt. I would take a pic of the hole in her hip but it is nasty so I wont. it is deep and gross.I can even see the cartilage on her hip and tail top.

How did you get that pic to hide if someone didnt want to see the gross?

I had to force feed her tonite before giving her the Amoxidrops Doc said not on empty stomach she looks bad another rough day! I have left the wound alone and just keep trying to let her sleep on the heating pad and offer food at all times in the medi-cage she is not eating it right now. DH suggested it has been hungry for so long that it may have a different feeling that tells it to eat. so I am going to try to keep her belly full with out messin with her too much. She pounces on the food when she is ready to eat and keeps her paws above her head like she is blocking the food so she can keep it herself. I think outside she had to fight for scraps. And she is a weakling.
See there is something about Culling your own livestock that you raise. You want to know it was done humanely with no mistakes of suffering.
Want a job done right ... Do it yourself.

I am still hoping for her to be a survivor! I think all the attention is making her not feel so good.
hu.gif

But the good news is
She is Still alive right now with a full belly and heating pad

I hope better dreams than I had last night! Can't get the experience out of my head.

I hope she's still doing well!!!
Yeah, I've had chickens that were less stressed and therefore got better on their own faster than stressing them out by paying any attention to them. But if she's got to be fed, then it sounds like you're striking the right balance between making sure she's eating but not stressing her too much. =)
I hate those kinds of dreams. The vivid weird ones (or especially when they get scary). *shivers*

Yeah, I agree "if you want a job done right, do it yourself."

Wanted to take a moment to Brag on and acknowledge my DH!
All of the what nots and goings on here at our house have convinced me that I am the luckiest woman in the world! You see with all the chicks filling rooms in the house and a sick kitten in the dining room, DH has been so supportive and helpful with all my chores inside and out and never complained just wished me a happy anniversary! See today is out 20 th wedding anniversary. If the next 20 are like the first It will be a piece of cake!

Congratulations on an amazing man!
Congratulations on twenty years!!!

Teachick,
Thank you for the ideas, I will check them out.

Hope they help. =)

Yea but in the back 0f my mind I knew I should have made them get as second opinion from my regular vet.

Don't beat yourself up. Hindsight is 20/20.

Just came across this thread and have to add my ramblings.
Every morning I jump on Backyard Chickens with my trusty cup-o-Joe next to me, clicking through threads gathering as much info on raising chickens as I possibly can. This has been my morning tradition since January!
I don't want to wake up and read or see whatever tragedies have unfolded in the news overnight, I just wanna sit here on a happy website sippin my coffee and enjoying the silence (until my kids wake up). So thank you, Backyard Chicken peeps, for making my morning routine a pleasant and informative one day after day :)
Welcome!!!
I like BYC for the same reasons! =)

Oh no worries! And I apologize for bursting in...I didn't read the previous conversations until after I posted
th.gif
Sorry!

Don't worry about that. Mostly it's just conversation. Walking into the room and saying "hi, I'm here, what are we talking about" is absolutely welcome here! =)

Tell us about your chickens. =)
(someone else has probably already asked by now, but...)

Chicks got cocci, adult flock needed deworming, and then microplasma popped it's ugly head, and the medication for that is $$$
We've had a lot of trouble with cocci here. We start w/ medicated chick crumbles, and then if one starts looking the slightest bit sickly, we start them on Corid. We've had a few batches where we've had to treat w/ Corid every two weeks.

In those, we've lost half to two-thirds of those.

Oh, and I have a Cocci in chicks thread somewhere. It's not long, but there's some useful information on it, mostly from Ron.

Here I am, really sitting with a cup of coffee. In all the years of BYC, this is the first time.

Welcome to our caffinated little family!!! =D
Interesting avi. What's the bottom part of that?

My dad always said hot coffee in the summer helped to adjust your body to the warmer weather. He drank ice water in the winter for the same reason

This sounds like something my dad would say (and do).
